Man Stabs MACC Complainant In Sentul After Report Lodged

Victim attacked after lodging MACC report against suspect

Angered by a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) report lodged against him, a man stabbed the complainant, causing a 3-centimetre-deep wound on on his left wrist Friday (Aug 5).

The 36-year old attacker who has three past criminal records was nabbed hours after the incident, said Sentul district police chief ACP Beh Eng Lai.

“The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code (causing injury using weapons or dangerous objects). The suspect will be remanded for further investigation,” he said in a statement.

The victim had lodged an MACC report against the suspect relating to misappropriation of money.

The stabbing was believed to have happened at 4pm in Jalan Ipoh.

Initial investigation revealed there was a misunderstanding between the victim and the suspect who was dissatisfied with the victim for lodging a report to MACC.

“During the argument, the suspect stabbed the victim’s left hand with a knife. The victim was sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital where he underwent surgery,” he said.

Beh asked anyone with information on the incident to contact the Sentul district police headquarters’ operations room at 03-4048 2222.
