Myanmar man toss his children from 20-metre height at MRR2, killing two before committing suicide

A man allegedly threw his three children from the height of 20 metres off the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) in Desa Jaya before jumping to his death early this morning.

Two of the kids, an eight-year old girl and her brother died while another sibling was being treated at the Selayang Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The 38-year old Myanmar man was earlier seen holding hands of two kids while another was on his back at the scene by a witness.

News reports quoted Sentul district police chief Assistant Commissioner Beh Eng Lai as saying the victim had approached the four but the father suddenly threw off the children before taking a plunge in the incdent that occurred near the Desa Jaya traffic lights.

Severe Injuries

“The sole surviving victim, believed to be a five-year-old boy, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Selayang Hospital.

“The boy sustained internal abdominal injuries and broke his left rib in the incident,” he said.

Police who was alerted at 5.50am rushed to the scene and found two children and the father sprawled on the road while the surviving victim on the grass patch.

“The man and the two kids were killed on the spot while another boy who landed on the grass near the road shoulder was rushed to the Selayang Hospital.

The three bodies were sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital forensics unit for post-mortem.

He added that police found two United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) cards belonging to the man and the eight-year-old girl at the scene.
