Lim Kit Siang turns Cameron Highlands by election a racial affair

DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang turned the Cameron Highlands by elections into a racial issue when he asked MCA in his blog their stand as Barisan Nasional did not use a MIC candidate.

The Barisan National coalition under the helm of Datuk Seri Utama Mohammad Hassan chose to field former Royal Malaysian Police Rangers division chief who is an Orang Asli, Ramli Mohd Noor.

As suggested by Isham Jalil, President of Jalinan Sukarelawan Malaysia, orang asli are the king makers in the by election who have been consistent in their vote for Barisan Nasional.

Barisan Nasional’s choice is a strategic choice based on the needs of the constituents. In addition win for UMNO is a win for the coalition that is desperate for a win.

So it hardly matters to MCA or MIC who is fielded as long as it benefits the constituents and the coalition. It is not a racial issue as Lim makes it out to be.

Although Lin claims that his Chinese dominated party is multiracial he has spent a lifetime attacking MCA to curry favours with the Chinese Malaysians. A strategy that has worked well especially during the GE14.

Recently his son Lim Guan Eng, the party’s Secretary General demanded that MCA divest it’s ownership of TAR College to make before the DAP controlled Pakatan Harapan funds it.
