Cisco ASEAN terminates employment of Malaysian man who insulted King

Following public pressure Cisco ASEAN has terminated the employment of a staff that insulted the King.

Cisco ASEAN posted a statement on their corporate Facebook page that it believes in respecting local traditions and laws and the statement the staff made was made in a personal capacity.

Malaysians often take to social media to express their opinion  without understanding the repercussions it can have on their livelihood.

The former staff, Eric Liew made the insult on the news of the King’s notice of abdication of his throne.

Last month Honda Malaysia terminated their staff who made disparaging comments over the death of a fireman.
